At the 2014 New York International Auto Show, the world was not enough for Aston Martin (see what I did there?)

Even Aston Martin likes the frequent associations to James Bond. The auto brand named their bespoke division Q. Aston Martin has prepared two special edition models for the show in the Big Apple slated to join the North American line-up before the end of this year. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT and the DB9 Carbon Edition both exemplify the very best of the British premium brand’s performance background.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT

The entry-level Aston Martin V8 Vantage will expand in the third quarter of 2014 to include a purely performance-focused version called the V8 Vantage GT. This vehicle premiered in Geneva and has been provided outside of North America as the V8 Vantage N430. Inside and out, the V8 Vantage GT is created to be a vehicle meant to be in motion.

Offered as a coupe or convertible roadster, the exterior of the V8 Vantage GT features black trim around the headlights and windows as part of a darkened, purposeful presentation. This treatment is also found at the rear of the V8 Vantage GT noted on the exhaust tailpipes as well as through the clear taillight housings. Alloro Green, Jet Black, Skyfall Silver, Mariana Blue and Speedway White outer colors of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT can be characterized further thanks to optional motorsport-themed graphic packs. The interior of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT features a deep commitment to empathizing race-inspired motoring for the street. Sports seats first found on the V12 Vantage S appear inside the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT for the driver and the passenger. Leather with contrasting stitching and machined carbon sill plaques are found inside the high-quality Aston Martin interior.

The 4.7-liter, eight-cylinder engine of the V8 Vantage is enhanced on the GT edition to 430 horsepower (a 10 horsepower improvement) thanks to the addition of a valved air intake system. With the special air intake system promoting better breathing at higher RPMs, the engine of the V8 Vantage GT allows 0 to 60-mile per hour acceleration in 4.6 seconds (shaving 0.1 seconds off the acceleration time of the base Vantage). A six-speed manual and an optional seven-speed Sportshift II automated manual transmission can be mated with the V8 Vantage GT’s engine. A tuned suspension, sport exhaust and race-engineered brakes are crowning touches to the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT’s well-rounded dynamics.

With pricing starting at $99,900 US, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT will become the lowest cost model in the North American line-up heading into 2015. Aston Martin has not said specifically what features will be excluded on the V8 Vantage GT in order to accommodate the lower price tag.

Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Edition

Carbon fiber is the new chrome for 21

st

century luxury performance cars. While a carbon finish is well associated as a functional attribute, the look creates a smooth, handsome appearance exploited for a high-class vehicle. The

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

and special model of Aston Martin’s DBS are some examples of carbon finishes playing integrally to the performance and aesthetics of a car.

Aston Martin’s grand tourer DB9 introduces its new Carbon Edition appearance package mixing modern motorsport-derived performance and lightweight luxury. The Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Edition utilizes actual carbon fiber material in creation of exterior trim pieces such as the rear lamp infills and side strakes. Presentation of the special edition Aston Martin DB9 is handled with a Carbon Black or a Carbon White ensemble (through Aston Martin customers can opt for custom colours). A carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser or mirror caps are optional on the Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Edition. The 10-spoke alloy wheels on the Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Edition can be finished in silver or satin black. Brake calipers can adhere to monochromic black or gray tones or can be coloured using red or yellow.

Along with unique doorsill plaques defining either the Carbon Black or Carbon White model, the Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Edition’s interior maintains subtle elegance with piano black and anodised details. Accent stitching is optional available in yellow, red and silver.

Unchanged on the Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Edition vehicles is the 6.0-liter V-12 powerplant that still processes a healthy 510 horsepower. The Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Edition will go on sale at a starting price of $199,995 to American customers.

On both special edition vehicles, Aston Martin promotes the availability for customers to personalize their vehicles.

In both special edition vehicles, Aston Martin advertises the availability of its vehicles to customers.
